Generator connection options
The right setup depends on your generator and what you want to keep running.
Generator inlet and interlock kit
For portable generators. We install an inlet box outside and an interlock on your panel so you can safely power selected circuits from the generator.
Automatic transfer switch
For standby generators. The transfer switch senses an outage and switches your home to generator power automatically.
Why a proper transfer setup matters
Plugging a generator into a wall outlet (back-feeding) is dangerous and illegal. It can energize utility lines, injure line workers, and damage your home's wiring.
